Best York college?

Looking to study PPE at York this year (my insurance). From London and like to party. Preferably nearer the place where I'm doing PPE. Prices don't really care as long as it isn't painfully expensive. Just looking for the most fun college, don't care if it's squalid. Like imagine Oak house but for York.
Sports wise I like to row but I'm not too fussed. Don't know much about York and don't even know if the college matters or not, just don't want to be put in a dry one. Anything but that. Cheers

Any colleges known in particular for leng girls? I don't mind meadies but I'm going to uni to have fun. I feel like Constantine's got some rockets just based off the name but I don't want to put it and arrive to a sausage fest. Apparently West Campus is better so I'll probably put something there. Cheers

Derwent college is the closest to the school of PPE, and has a reputation of being a social party college as it has 2 bars located around it (D bar and courtyard). It is also mostly catered so its full of people who like to socialise. James college is your second best bet, not as close to the school of PPE but its closest to the sport village and is near a venue called the lounge where some party events take place. The James stereotype is sporty party 'bros'. Keep in mind that all colleges have a stereotype and are not necessarily defined by that, you'll have a great time in any of them. Also its likely that not all of your lectures will be in the PPE building so location isn't that important. Good luck with your accommodation application and welcome to York!

All the colleges are nearby anyway, just don't commit flatcest.

Hi,

The School of PPE is based in Derwent College, so this would be the nearest college to your studies. Vanbrugh College, James College and Alcuin College are also nearby. If you're looking for catered, then Derwent, Vanbrugh and James are your best options. Alcuin is a self-catered college. James College is nearest to the Sports Centre on Campus West.

All of our colleges have a mix of people doing different courses so no matter where you choose, I'm sure you will find people with similar interests.
