Could I do a degree apprenticeship if I already have a level 4?

Ideally I would like to be accepted onto a degree apprenticeship programme. However, if I was not accepted, instead applied for a level 4 apprenticeship and got accepted would I be able to do a degree apprenticeship in the future since degree apprenticeships include level 4,5 & 6?

I believe redoing the same level 4 qualification would mean your studies would be funded under the apprenticeship levy.

That being said, you can do a 2 year degree apprenticeship top up after a level 4 higher apprenticeship. That’s what I did, but with the same employer.

Just apply to what interests you, and if it’s level 4, ask them if they facilitate the top up. They might do it on purpose so they can give you the option to stop or change your studies. Some of my colleagues swapped courses for their top up.
