No. Dating and relationships are a 2-way street.

No. We are not in the 1850s or 1920s.
I like a girl 💘and I want to tell her. She is my teacher's daughter and it feels awkward for me and she knows I have a thing for her. Do I dump her or do I keep it going?
In theory no with equality and all that but in reality it is still very much true that in a lot or even most cases it’s the guys that make the first move and start the pursuing, at least in the beginning. Then as the relationship progresses it can be more equal.

Surely the statement in the OP isn't mutually exclusive with the statement: 'Its the woman’s job to woo and attract the man'.

Just sing to her (Calypso styliee)

You're the teacher's daughter,
I wanna take you to the alter
... but just before we do that
, can we go round da back

If she doesn't melt in your arms, then either you can't sing, or she's officially a lesbian
