Alevel biology ocr marking help examiner advice appreciated

In my Biology AS paper, i got an A, but only 1 mark off an A*, and i feel like i deserve a mark due to my multiple choice answer that was correct, however not marked as it was unclear. The correct answer was C and i put that in the response box, however next to it i wrote "or D" and the D was circled. Above, I put an X next to the answer for D, showing i thought it was incorrect, but my teacher said it was unclear so i shouldn't get the mark. i don't want a pity point to go up a grade but honestly i think i deserve it and the answer that's in the box should be marked ( especially as it was obvious i didn't think D was correct ). Also if i did think it was D, i would have crossed out my C answer in the box. Any thoughts or examiners that can help
