I have recently spoke with some recruiting managers and they mentioned that 2023 is a slow year for recruitment in IB, wanted to know if someone had similar experience.

From networking with alumni at my uni, it seems that hiring has indeed slowed. However, some banks (e.g. Deutsche) are starting to pick off senior folks from other banks in preparation for the next leg up, so the hiring slowdown might not persist for long. Also, attrition levels at the analyst/associate level are still high, and banks would need someone to do the grunt work.
