Is the LSE Graduate Support Scheme (GGS) competitive?

Hi, I'm hoping to apply to LSE in my third year and have a plan to earn a good amount of money that should pay for most of the degree that I want to do by the time I get to LSE. However, the money I will accumulate will between now and then will not pay for all of it and without the GSS I wouldn't be able to attend. I come from quite a poor background so I cannot be financed by family etc either.

Is the GSS given out to everybody who meets the requirements? Or, is it a bit more competitive?
