UCL chemistry

Hi, I have an offer for Chemistry with Mgmt at UCL and Bath … I have just seen now that UCL has dropped 9 places in the last university guide ranking … I’m just wondering if I should be concerned or if anyone knows why UCL had this sudden and massive drop?

Because university league table rankings are notoriously variable and essentially meaningless. Nobody outside of school leavers cares about league table rankings. Employers certainly don't, for further academic study departments will know from experience which programmes develop strong candidates for doctoral research and which don't, and I can't think of any other reason why it would matter.

If you like the course at UCL and like UCL as a uni and London as a place to live, then stick with that. If those aren't true then it might merit reconsidering. At no point in that process does the "ranking" of the university factor in though.
