GCSE results day ,,, college/sixth form

Results day is tomorrow and I can’t decide whether to go sixth form or college ive been trying to make a decision since the beginning of august but cry the whole day instead. My secondary school experience was the worst I was lonely and had barely any friends my sixth form is attached to my school so I’m worried i won’t make any friends as girls already have their own friend groups coming in and my mental health will be the worst just like year 11 i cried pretty much every day it was the worst. But with college I’m scared to go into a new environment with new people and new teachers ,,, I’ve heard there’s less support there honestly i just wanna go to a place where my mental health will be oke i don’t care about anything else. I suck at making friends and socialising the only thing about my sixth form is it’s familiar and I feel kinda comfortable there. Please help me im tired of crying😭 growing up actually sucks

Friendship groups will change from year 11 to sixth form even if you stay at the same school. I would imagine some new people will join the sixth form as well so there is more of an opportunity to make friends. If you attend college everyone will be in the same boat as you pretty much, which may make it easier to make friends as everyone will be a bit nervous. If you have anymore questions please feel free to ask.

No i think your so right it’s just secondary school was a horrible time for me and I really don’t want to ever feel like that again that’s why I’m a bit scared to go sixthform i just can’t make a decision based on what I said where do u think would be best for me? I honestly don’t know how I’ll deal with the changes that come with college it’s just making me feel so down already because i can’t make a decision and I don’t wanna think about it but I have to because results day is tomorrow.

I don't know what is best for you. I struggled with friendships in secondary and I now attend the sixth form there, and I now have a friendship group. You are likely to encounter difficulties no matter what you do, so I would go with the one that is more appealling to you academically, although friendships are likely to influence how you find learning as well. If you find that college/sixth form is not right for you, it would probably be possible to transfer within the first few weeks of term if that is what is best for you.
