Dipped headlights

Might be a bit of a silly question but I was driving at around 9pm so it was fairly dark and I put my dipped headlights on. As soon as I put them on I had a car continuously flashing me until I turned them off and then they stopped. Why would they have been flashing me for using the correct lights ?

I’m 100% sure I didn’t have full beams on as I would have had to turn them on by pushing the main beam lever on the left and there was no icon showing for that

It was in the other lane going the opposite way and flashed me like 10 times, as soon as I turned them off the other car stopped

Maybe get your headlight alignment checked. Could be you're unintentionally shining your headlights directly into the face of oncoming drivers. Especially with LED lights this can easily look like full beam.
