how are some people freakishly good at school?

no matter how hard or smartly i revise i always find they always get higher.
my question is to the people who were at the top of their class, what is it that made you succesfull that others didnt do.

Don't compare yourself to others, only compare to you.
The people at the top, also worked hard, made notes, did past papers. They just liked learning - so did more of it outside school

Success in anything is about routine, habit, commitment and consistency.

Anyone can do an hour after dinner revision but what about 4 hours, every single night with no excuses?
Good students learn to love studying and it becomes 2nd nature.
