Edinburgh PPE

I'm applying to PPE at the university of Edinburgh but was sure if the A-Level grade requirements were A*AA or AAA, because it says A*AA-AAA on the website. How is this decided?

Edinburgh I believe states elsewhere on their admissions pages that the grade range is such that usually the lower end reflects a contextual offer and the higher end often represents a standard offer - but that also for more popular/competitive courses there it's quite common for competitive applicants to exceed the higher offer anyway.
