first assignments flop

Hi, I've just received my first ever uni assignment back and it was not good. I worked really hard, and thought I deserved a better grade, but I ended up with a 65. I am considering going to talk to my prof, as her feedback and marking scheme seems to be a bit unfair. Is this a good idea? Also, is this common? I've heard that marls usually drop significantly first year, but I entered with a 95 average....so this is a lot more than I was expecting.
65% is a good grade at degree level, that's a good 2:1.

You need to recognise that universities grade on a different scale than A-levels. It is extremely unlikely you will score above 80% in most subjects, and 70% or above is already the maximum grade you can get (there isn't a "1st class star" grade...). My department actually only grades on a scale of 0-80 to start with...

You got a good result and so you need to work on learning how to understand and recognise that.
