What's up with UK universities research applications(physics)?
Department admins and professors hardly or do not reply to emails at all. Even if they do, it's like months late. Even after submitting applications they are still not reviewing it for months. In emails, professors are too casual about taking students. In terms of quality,
most professors are almost doing the same research and hardly anything new. (Unlike before when many universities had original contributions, like Hawking, Higges, and Penrose). Still can see some original work in Oxbridge, but others not at all(mostly talking about theory)
