Taking gap year after finishing first year as an international student

I wanted to take a gap year before uni started but wasn't able to as my visa was ending where I was living and it would mean I would have to return to my home country (can't because of war). Since then I have gotten a permanent residence elsewhere and now how the option of taking a gap year again. I asked my university about the suspension of my studies and was informed that I would have to terminate my visa completely, get a new CAS number, and pay my student visa and IHS fees again when reapplying. Considering I have spent £1,900 on IHS and student visa fees, is there absolutely no other way of doing this? I did not realize that going to uni would be like a trap for my situation. The reason I need to take this gap year as soon as possible is that I have a potential record deal offer on which I need to act on.
