Hi hope everyone is doing well. I was wondering can unis take level 2 BTECs instead of a GCSE as for example if a uni wanted a 6 in IT and I got a merit in level 2 BTEC for IT can they considered it.

It's possible, and would depend on the uni. You'd need to contact them and ask.
