Help to direct a play in Poland for 10 days in June

In June 2005, students from a secondary school in southern Poland will stage a shortened version of Macbeth, in English, under a British director.

We are looking for two British students aged 16-19 to help rehearse specific scenes with Polish students aged 15-18, then stage manage the production on the night.

You will have either completed your GCSEs or A-levels, or have completed your first year at University.

Flights to and from London, transport in-country, accommodation and all meals will all be booked and provided by the project team. You will be asked to make a contribution of £100 towards these costs.

You will attend a pre-production briefing in London on Thursday 9 June, spend the night in London, then fly to Poland on Friday 10 June. The play will be rehearsed for seven days, with the performance on Saturday 18 June. You will fly back to the UK on Sunday 19 June or, of course, you may continue your travels.

Although the rehearsal schedule will be pretty intensive, there will be ample opportunities to mix socially with the Polish students and their teachers. There will also be an opportunity for you to visit the city of Krakow and the former concentration camps at Auschwitz.

This is a great opportunity for someone interested in drama/theatre studies. While no knowledge of Shakespeare is required, you will be highly-motivated with lots of energy and excellent communication skills. In short, this is a great opportunity to experience a different culture and to take part in an extremely worthwhile project at very low-cost.

Interviews will be held in London by mutual arrangement (for which travel expenses will be paid).
