One benefit of thin opening windows... if you live on not the ground floor, it is usually OK to leave them open while you go out. If they opened all the way this would be a big no no!

That sounds amazing!- where they cooked first-so you could eat them afterwards ( like inject with BBQ sauce)

So how are you finding patients so far? enjoyable or just duanting! I know the 3rd year medic next door ( the residential advisor) just complains every fire alarm that he was mid gaming session on his Xbox - so you have all that free time to look forward too :yep:

Anyway anyone going out tonight to mercy for this foam party- I'm not as I want to be tinnitus free for my 07:00 start - but might end up in the red bar or whereever

Well I injected it with orange juice, so probably wouldn't have tasted that nice :p:

And it is daunting, but afterwards you just feel so pleased with yourself :o: And haha I doubt I'll ever be able to spend hours of time like that - I'd feel guilty :p:

And I start at 9 tomorrow, so I'll be up at 7. And I'm not going, but one of my flatmates (and possibly 2 or 3 more) are

Ewww that would probably induce some vomitting :vomit: Just curious but what are the 3 types of injections ( i mean surely chickens dont have a fat layer?)

Do you live with medics then- or are you mixed. I know someone in Britten house and he lives with 6 medics and 6 others- so are you all grouped together?

I hate 7am starts- I didnt get up that early during college. I also need to hand a book into the library before midnight

Errrm intra-dermally (between the layers of skin) for which we just used the skin of the chicken
sub-cutaneously (below the skin) so we injected into the space between the meat and the skin
intra-muscular (into muscle) so we just stabbed it into the meat

And errm I live with one other medic (and one foundation medic) 2 film studies, 1 english, 1 maths and 1 env science

Errrm I was up at 6 today.....can't wait for the weekend :sigh: And you could just renew it online and return it tomorrow......?

Renew it online- how!! It's not a hgih demand book but so far I havn't found anywhere to renew it online ( which would be a live saver as I dont want to stop watching The Apprentice!)

I thought they were the 3, but didnt think a chicken was accurate enough- I thought they used those weird plastic things- or are they for suturing!.

Everyone in my flat is paired up with someone on the same course- except someone doing maths- but at least there are 3 scientists and some psychologists and lit students- a good mix

edit** why oh why has someone requested it- when there are already 3 that are not on loan and not reference copies! - off to the library then as I want to keep my coppers

You can renew on the portal, on the 'academic' page I think. There's like a list of the books you have out and you can do it all from there. xx

Thanks for the reply- its appreciated. I checked on the catalogue and it was requested, hence I couldnt find the renewal button.

The annoying thing is there are several that are not on loan- so couldnt they just go get one of those instead. Regardless I enjoyed the brisk walk and photographed every page that I need to read

Yeah I think that's for suturing (our GP tutor said he'd teach us that too, even though it's not on the curriculum  ) And you can't request a book when there are some in the library (I know cause I wasn't allowed to do this even though it could not be found on the shelf anywhere - the one remaining book) so I'm assuming it they requested it BEFORE the others were returned.

Did you check the returns shelf?

Oh and a hint... if you need only a few pages of a book (eg 3 chapters or something), you can take it out of high demand, scan it all on the PC's next to the high demand section for free, return it straight away (no rush to return it to the library) and then email the notes to yourself/put them on a memory stick.

Voila, free photocopying. Unless you don't like reading from a screen... I don't mind if it saves me money :P

Yep, checked there too. The woman said that "someone had probably hidden it" so there was nothing I could do

I'll have to remember that- I dont venture to the library that often but when I do I'll keep an eye out for scanners. I resorted to photographs yesterday but I think scanning might give me a better resolution

Lol, probably hidden. Sounds like a plan I suppose, but I could never do it, I'd feel too mean!

Hi everyone!:hat2:
I'm an erasmus student getting to UEA in January.
I've got a simple question:
which is the most free university accomodation?
I mean...here in Pisa most of the accomodations are strictly controlled and to get in you have to pass by the receptionist. It's quite impossible to host friends or relatives for the night.
Is it the same at UEA ones? What about Norfolk/Suffolk Terrace (my favorite choice)?

No receptionists here. You just come and go whenever you like.

Norfolk and Suffolk are in the ziggurats I believe. They are alright - older buildings and more people sharing the kitchen. I think a lot of them share bathrooms as well. Here in the Village we have 7 to a kitchen and en suite bathrooms (more of a plastic cupboard really, but it's fine). A lot depends on your block, but all my neighbours are fine.

You can have people stay over for a few days but there is some kind of time limit on how long they can stay. Just bear in mind the rooms are pretty small and it's only a single bed.

Errrrm Norfolk and Suffolk don't have ANY en-suites, it's all shared bathrooms. And it's 12-14 people for 2 bathrooms and a kitchen. And in the village it's 6-8, and I have 8 in mine. All my flatmates are lovely

And yep, it's a maximum of 3 nights, and you need to tell the Resident Tutor if you're planning on having someone over, but apart from that it's fine

Errrrrrm is it really? How nice.

We've just gone from 6 to 7 with a new, slightly shell-shocked arrival from Norfolk Terrace who is enjoying the more civilized Village surroundings. :p:

To those of you at UEA, is there any difference in terms of the ensuite accomodation on campus e.g. Britten (is that right?) and the ensuite in the village? I know its a little bit cheaper off campus but apart from that? Any less social?
