How hard is it to be accepted into URNU?

im hopefully going to lancaster uni in september, i am interested in joining URNU... the liverpool unit. Im wondering if anyone can tell me how hard it is to get in? is there much competition? thanks :smile:

That's a completely impossible question to answer! How do you quantify how difficult something like that is? There will probably be some competition for places as the unit will only be allowed so many on its books, but that'll depend very much on how much of a Navy presence is in the area, exactly how big the unit us, and how popular they are.

The UAS, with having to provide flying for everyone, is normally the most hotly contested in terms of places. They can't take as many because of the costs involved, and the lure of free flying normally brings in a chunk more people than you'd think. In my experience the OTC can be the most accepting, as it doesn't make an enormous difference if they take a couple of extra people. I'm not sure about the URNU, but I imagine if you're good enough, you're unlikely to be beaten out in a competition.
