I know this was a long time ago it was posted but I wondered if the 'real' cost was the same as what the uni says

many years since being a fresher in London but i think apart from the weekly rent (and free internet in College Grove) i spent about £30 a week on food and probably the same if not a bit more on socialising :eek3: . No car so that saves mega and all bills were included in the rent. And always save the change to use for the washing machines! and that is all i can remember from freshers  enjoy it.
Don't need to buy any books, they keep them in the library - shocker! I would suggest waiting until at least 4th year to buy text books because you will then know which ones you can't be without eq Pasquinis, Fossum.

Don't know many people that had jobs maybe just one or two but seriously don't worry about anything, everything will sort itself out just enjoy first year because it only gets more intense:frown:

Thanks for that very good advice!! MB is abit more exepensive than CG but apart from that I think everything will be the same! Do you really suggest buying no books whatsoever in first year?
