Cardiff University Applicants 2015

Hey guys!
Can someone tell me the differences between taly South and Court? I know that Taly South is more social but I'm worried if I'll get rest during exam season! Also it's cheaper than court but I'm not sure by how much :/
Court have nicer bathrooms but I don't want to feel isolated (?) also is it worth the extra cost?
Not sure which one to put as first choice argh!
Cheers!

I have received an offer from Cardiff to study Medicine in December and am in the process of trying to sort out the finances. I attempted to fill in the Student Finance England on-line form on the ‘GOV.UK’ website.
Although the online form does allow me to select Cardiff University, I have problems selecting Medicine (A100) as the course. I have tried typing in ‘Medicine’, ‘A100’ and other suitable options in the ‘course finder box’; however, ‘Medicine (A100)’ does not come up as one of the courses offered by Cardiff University. I completed my form by manually typing in ‘Medicine (A100)’ as the course title. However, when I have submitted the form a message came up saying that the course title is incorrect and that I need to contact Cardiff University for the correct course title comes up. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a workaround?

Hey!
I'm having the same dilemma as you, I have no idea what accommodation to pick!
If you go here http://www.cardiff.ac.uk/for/prospective/accommodation/residences.html there's a list of all the accommodation and each has it's individual page with prices too.
I've been to the open day and visited the accommodation and personally I preferred Talybont Court, the rooms were still small but were just that little bit nicer than those in Taly South. And from what I remember there wasn't much difference in price. Hope that helps!

I am considering applying for Talybont Gate though, even though it's more expensive, it's brand new and I'm sure it's only about £5 more a week. I know £5 is quite a lot to students and I know I need to save as much money as possible for other living costs but part of me thinks it's worth it because it is brand new and everything is just that little bit nicer. The only thing that I am concerned about is how social Talybont Gate is, does anybody know?

Like Alltimesarah pointed out, I don't want to be isolated and do want to socialise but I do want to be able to study around exam time :-)

I haven't seen the accommodation :frown: do you know when there's another date to see them?
Taly gate looks well nice, if it was where taly court was I would put it down as an option

Me too. i dont know which of court, south and gate to choose.
I like:
COURT for distance to uni (shorter) and the good kitchen, bedroom and bathroom
SOUTH as is the most social
GATE because is brand new with better facilities than others
i dont like:
COURT and GATE: not social. GATE also about distance
SOUTH: small rooms and sometimes noisy

im thinking for it days but cant decide

I've been over thinking this lol
Think I've decided on south first then court then gate
Someone told me they made a mistake going to court and says its not worth the extra money :/ but this person went to court 1/2 years ago. I'm going to "yolo" it for a year with south

As much as I want to go to GATE for the better accommodation, I think I'll go for court as my first, because it's the one that's pretty much equal distance between the hospital campus and the main campus!

What courses have everyone applied for?
Anyone here with an offer from Cardiff in IR?

I don't know, on twitter if you type "taly court" or "talybont court" mixed reactions, the hash tags on Instagram seem alright lol
It's your judgement to make
