In my opinion, you need to be mature to have sex. As a girl, you should think about yourself...both in terms of STIs and pregnancy!! Before settling down with my boyfriend, I slept with 2 other guys. I always carried a condom in my purse. On top of that, I have been on the contraceptive injection (depo). Although recently I have changed to the combined pill.
In terms of my relationship, I'm not worried about catching an STI as this is my boyfriend's first relationship and was a virgin. We don't tend to wear condoms as I am sure I won't likely get pregnant on the pill. My boyfriend finds them uncomfortable and I often experience discomfort myself. We have recently started experimenting with things like lubricants, sleeves, rings, etc.
In conclusion, whether you are a male or female...ALWAYS carry a condom in your purse or wallet
