Do I need to change my student finance details after clearing?

So I switched to another university through clearing. My tutor said I don't need to change my student finance details, it's done for me automatically. Is he right? The course starts in less than 3 weeks

A few weeks or so. Certainly not that long.

Would it be possible to get a more specific time? I'm in clearing right now and have to get private accom before I start the course in addition to tuition fees.
