I did the Dissertation-style EPQ, so that's all I would advocate.

If you are into the social / ethical stuff, you could ask

Are any advances in aeronautical engineering necessary for modern life?

Do the advances in aeronautical engineering justify their cost?

I'm not sure if you would like to go into the environmental aspects; that might lead you astray.

I would also like some input on this, sorry I can't really be of any help as I'm in the same boat ^^'
Out of interest do you know who we have to present it to? So far all I've been told is that I've been signed up for it by my teachers and I know nothing about it other than what I can find on the website but as far as I can see it doesn't say.
