The Lion King

Scar: "Long live the King"

:nooo:
%90 of the things we spend our time worrying about never actually happen.

Its more of a factoid than a quote and I dont know where its from but its got me thinking about optimism, pessimism and realism recently.
"herpes"

My doctor used that word, and it stayed with me for a long time.

better to live on your feet than die on your knees
"People are unreasonable, illogical & self-centered,
Love them anyway...

If you do good, people may accuse you of selfish motives,
Do good anyway...

If you are successful, you may win false friends and true enemies,
Succeed anyway...

The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow,
Do good anyway...

Honesty & transparency make you vulnerable,
Be honest & transparent anyway...

What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight,
Build anyway...

People who really want help may attack you if you help them,
Help them anyway...

Give the world the best you have and you may get hurt,
Give the world your best anyway...

The world is full of conflict,
Choose peace of mind anyway..."

Mother Teresa
"Lives of great men all remind us
We can make our lives sublime,
And, departing, leave behind us
Footprints on the sands of time!"

This could be from a song, a book, a film, or someone as great as mahatma ghandi..

Reason i ask if because my college is doing a yearbook quote and i havn't picked mine yet, I was thinking of going with 'all that is gold does not glitter..' but i wanted something more personal!

I love the shawshank quote 'I hope the pacific is as blue as it has been in my dreams. I hope'

And the lyric 'Get outta my dreams, Get into my car'

If anyone has any nice quotes they want to share with me that would be awesome  I'm really stuck!

"im not a businessman. im a business, man!!!"
"sleep is the cousin of death"
( sleep alot)
they are lyrics, and a saying respectively
"No one will love you until you learn to love yourself"
A friend of a friend told me it years ago and it took me years to actually understand what she meant. Helpful advice really.
"Listen to your heart, and you will understand"
-Grandmother Willow, Pocahontas. What a wise old tree, basically I like this because it means if things don't feel right to you then they probably aren't.
Following these two pieces of advice I am alot happier than I used to be

"The first star that I saw last night was the headlight of a man made sky" [Switchfoot - Awakening]

And a quote from JK Rowling in response to how she wants to be remembered:
"As someone who did the best they could with the talents they had"
I think that's what everyone wants to be really, isn't it?

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

Heard on West Wing, but originally said by Margaret Mead.

'work fears to be touched, when you begin you soon forget how difficult you thought it was at first'
My grandmother would say this to my mother, but now my father constantly uses whenever he tells me to do housework
Don't eat yellow snow.
