So I can keep it if I dry clean it regularly then? Different tie each day?

Then they can't get me :woo:

I hope so, I'd like to wear a tie as well. :yep:

I wore a suit with pink shirt and lilac tie  but I've been wearing a suit for the past 2 years at sixth form so its something I already feel comfortable in. Just wear whatever you feel comfortable in, shirt and trousers should suffice.

Tie with clip is allowed in my Trust.

Bow tie? Though they are a bit silly.

If it is the only tie I can wear...Personally I would go for a cravat first.

Wow everyone in this thread is going into medicine, I'm going into veterinary medicine, you havent seen nothing on the competitive front trust me. Wear something smart, they will be.

RVC offer AAA  VetMed

Yes, funny that everyone on the medicine forum is going/wanting to go into medicine.
I think you should wear a suit to interview. You are going to a formal, professional interview and should dress accordingly.

Having said that, I staunchly wear a shirt and tie to hospital and would love for white coats to be brought back

It is. And also harder.

Look at Glasgow's vet prospectus:

You will be required to undertake an
additional 12 weeks’ extra-mural studies
(EMS) during vacation time in first and second
years, during which you will gain further
experience of the management and handling
of domestic animals. During your third,
fourth and final years you must also spend a
combined total of 26 weeks’ vacation time on
EMS gaining experience of general veterinary
practice.

Poor bastards have to give up 6 weeks per year in preclinical medicine and over 8 weeks per year in holidays in clinical years, to do extra work!

Meh. I went in a hugo boss suit to one. I prefer my french connection suit though, fits better.

I need a new suit though :moon:

Probably.

I am the cheese/wine/tea/coffee snob of the corridor.
I also hate not wearing a proper self tied bow tie, and those annoying people that take one to replace their clipon with later to look cool learn to tie the bloody thing it isn't hard!

I do want a properly tailored suit though they are so wonderful.

I might all so add that apart form suits I have a tendancy to dress like a tamp (hoodie and whichever uni related t-shirt is clean) so in that respect I am not too bad.

And to be honest, they look pretty ridiculous. Though it would be convenient to actually have some pockets for a change.
