The Student Room Group
When I asked one of my Anatomy lecturers (who's also a vet) about this, she said it's very difficult to get in without having done an intercalated degree.
But one of the vets at my EMS practice is going to America to do a residency (although he had done an intercalated degree in Harvard uni (!) and got a distinction from RVC).

I have heard of vets from all over the world, going to the US to do a residency. I'm not sure of the criteria but you will probably have to take Boards. It may be worth contacting the AVMA, US vets schools etc. for advice. In order to do a residency in the UK you usually have to have done an internship or spent several years in practice and have developed an interest in research/academia. Hope this helps x
