I think physiotherapy is really interesting. I worked as a physio assistant for a bit and it would be my second choice career-wise if I didn't want to be a vet!

Oh yeah I'm just doing that as a side-on, filling up thing   I'm almost finished my BSc degree and there wasn't much choice in terms of subjects ://

I've already done all the physiology-related ones at my uni :p:

Hey, how are you getting on with doing a Post-Grad Physio course? Have you heard anything? I hope so

Get some work experience in both before reaching a decision. I wanted to be a physiotherapist but the work experience I did literally sent me to sleep. Now I'm aplying to nursing because there's such a variety of specialisms, and it's not so much of a career but a vocation

And how many people today wouldn't be alive if they didn't have a nurse to save their life. How many would only "survive" instead of "live" if their physiotherapist hadn't been there to teach them to walk again?

If you want an office job where you push bits of paper around 8 hours a day then go for it... Some poeple however want to do something valuable and give something back to the world.

I hope qwerty/stn gets hold of you.

indeed, why on earth would anyone be stupid enough to train for three years for a career in a job thats not real. evidently the whole concept of caring is far too sophisticated for you.
i actually pity you, i mean god forbid if you ever get ill and need to stay in hospital and have rehabilitation, you poor thing, you be looked after by highly skilled professionals who will work there fingers to the bone to make sure you get better, all by doing 'pretend' jobs.
what you obviously dont grasp about why people waste there time in rubbish jobs like nursing and physio, is that these are people that actually care, and there is a lot of job satisfaction to be had from a job as rewarding as nursing or physio. oh yeah, im sure its great to have a boring 9-5 job that you get paid ridiculously well for. but everyday spent on a ward or in another healthcare setting has its little surprises, its challenging, its stressful and its hard work, but there are very few jobs out there that will ever give you the same stimulation or buzz that you get from helping another human being and improving there life.
all i can say is thank god people like you dont work in the nhs.

(and i totally resent that last comment in ur above post. so nurses/physios dont know how to live do they not? i can tell youve obviously never watched 'no angels')
--------------
and with regard to the OP,

dont take this wrong but are you 100% sure that a job in the healthcare sector is right for you? its just that nursing and physio are two entirely different jobs, and the fact that you seem more bothered about which ones higher paid and more professional is slightly worrying.
the training for both nursing and physio is time consuming and draining, you have to be sure that you really do want a career in one of these professions cos otherwise thats a waste of three years, and what you dont want is to spend all that time training and gaining skills only to discover that it really isnt for you.

how much serious thought have you given to this apart from your post on here because it will take far more than that. and it doenst matter what other peoples opinions are on which you should do, it is after all the rest of your life that you will spend working as one or the other

(oh and i wouldnt say that either was more professional than the other, although at a push i would suggest that nursing is because im biased)

Can't apply until January next year. Getting work experience (hopefully paid) lined up for December though, in between the Christmas promo assignment I got for that month. By the way did I tell you a good friend of mine who is doing a similar degree to you (except here  ) has just found out she's got a job in the government, we're going out to celebrate tonight. How's your degree going? *Remembers thread topic  * You can shoot me a PM if you want
