interview date recieved

i had a letter from swansea today inviting me for an interview on 30th november in the politics dept, they also said someone from history will be present! agh!!! scared!! what do i say? do lol what if i dont get in? i have to go to swansea! i want to go so bad!!!

Have they told you who will be interviewing you? I know most of them quite well...

The staff in the Politics department are all great...no need to panic! Have they made you an offer? or does it depend on the interview?

nope no offer as of yet, no mention oh who it is, so yes i guess it is all interview dependant. which means an awful lot because i really want to go to swansea uni, i dont think i can emphasise how much i want to go!

Oh, they've changed the system then...either that or a lot of people have applied, and they've decided to interview as a result...

I know it used to be that you had the offer, and then they'd invite you for an informal "chat". That was certainly the system when I applied in 2002, but there's a new Head of Department now, so he may have changed things.

You just know Swansea is better than Aber!!! Imagine being stuck up there for months on end!!!

helen brocklehurst- admissions tutor for the department of politics and international relations. im really nervous about an interview, ir said in the letter not to panic etc that its informal just to get to know you etc. they will talk to you about your ps and then answer any questions you have. it sounds a lot like it was on the open day when u sat at the desk and talked about the course.

Swansea is Wales' 2nd city...plenty to do, easy(ish) access to Cardiff, London, etc.

i think i may have spoken to her on the open day, im going to give a really vague despription of blonde hair, small, petite and very well groomed lol. is she featured in the perspectus under american studies? if not i have the wrong lady, if so i talked to her at the open day and she was lovely :smile:

dont enter a war on swansea anb aber lol both have there advantages and disadvantages. aber is like home (home being tenby) only with a uni and a bit bigger. swansea is close to some family, night life is good etc i like both.

aber is fantastic. I had offers for both, visited both, chose aber and loved it.

no i dont, but the guy i spoke to on the open day from history was a medival histoy specialist and he was like let me guess you want to do modern history and he looked disapointed when i said yes, but when i mentioned the civil war he perked up a bit lol. he seemed nice. im just worried i wont know waht to say.

I don't have a progress file. Just my good ol' ROA. Just full of certificates and a personal statement that's out of date. lol. I'd never even heard of a progress file before I applied to uni.

I've got a interview for Math & Computer science on 30th november. I'm such a lazy moo and have never had a job, so this'll be my first ever interview. Any advice? I have no idea how I'm gonna sort out my train tickets. Gah! :rolleyes:
