Portfolio question: Drawings!

So I have a couple drawings that I would love to put in my portfolio for uni interviews. Thing is, I drew them from other peoples drawings/pictures. Eg. If I were to draw this myself (and include a lil thumbnail of the pic in the corner or something for credit) ; http://weheartit.com/entry/6202725 ; would the universities mind? I know it doesn't really show my own creative flair, but it shows my skills right? agh!
I think if you put life drawing in that would be ok but not exact copy of that image but they like it if you have looked at other artists work and have created a drawing or piece of work inspired by that artist, etc.

Exact copying other drawings is pointless. The only drawings they really want are observational/development.

i would advice you not to do this. Unis genurally hate this idea, as it shows nothing but your able to 'copy' from a reference, even if you change it slightly its still not yuor own work!!!! like the other post stated unis would rather see life drawings ( study of a human form from life) than pointless copy drawings.
