Interested in studying NatSci at Cambridge or Bath, specialising later on for a masters. Only just starting year 12 though so there's plenty of time for me to change my mind
I have a general interest in science and don't want to stick to specific areas early on, so NatSci seemed perfect!

Hello,

I'm curious to know people who are wishing to do/are doing the Natural Sciences course and where. I hear it is a very popular course, yet I have not come across anyone who likes it!

I'm applying this year, or probably next year. So how come you decided NatSci, and where are you applying?

Hi, I'll be applying soon for physical Natural Sciences at Cambridge, and probably Durham, Bath, Nottingham, and UCL. Although I'm not certain about UCL yet and I'd like to apply to Imperial! Natural Sciences seems to be the best course for me as I don't want to choose between physics and chemistry yet, I love them both!
my only worry is that natural science isnt the most employable degree. i dont really want a career in research or teaching.

You can do ANYTHING with NatSci. The knowledge you can is vast, therefore you would be highly employable!
ye thats what i originally thought, but natural science at other unis apart from cambridge is very different. you end up with joint honour, and if i wanted to go into management/finance, a joint chemistry/biology degree wont look as attractive as an engineering degree

So what sort of work experience have people been doing or plan to do for NatSci?
Do you have to do loads of entrance exams for this course?

I can get work experience at a museum, but its mostly organisational skills which I'm not sure will help me at all :/

Thanks for replying. Is it likely that at other Unis there are no entrance exams? Also, by 'lots', how many roughly do you mean for Cambridge? Is it a ridiculous number or just two/three?

have a look at that ^ It varies for different colleges. Interview is compulsory at cambridge but it is very unlikely you would be interviewed at all for other universities for NatSci

Thanks. To apply to the Cambridge course, do you have to do any aptitude tests in advance (i.e. before you apply) or can you just apply with only GCSEs and AS levels? Sorry about the questions, I don't know much about Uni applications.
