Classics postgrad

I'm currently doing my Classics BA and I'm thinking about going on to do a Masters and maybe a PhD. In my first public exams I was a whisker away from a first overall but did substantially better in my language papers (good firsts on those, but high 2.1s on my literature and Ancient History ones). This is basically because I worked a lot harder on language than essay papers, so hopefully I should be predicted a first eventually.

My question is basically: will not the fact that I didn't get a first in my first public exams, and the fact that I performed better on language papers than elsewhere, make it quite difficult to apply for postgrad courses/get funding for postgrad courses?
