Barts and The London medicine applicants 2013

I am back in England, you can now text me! Joint house warming party/21st party? Apparently there's only 4 Barts freshers events this year, the rest are QM (or so my sister tells me?) so we'll have plenty of nights for a party!

Those events sound pretty lame. Caveman/girl will just turn into toga, 70s/80s will end up being very similar too. Although avengers . Tempted to crash that although it might be a little weird as it's basically only ever freshers that go.

Hey I am thinking of applying to Barts (still thinking) bit worried about their tariff thing since i have achieved grades :/ people can get predictions of A*A*A*A* which would out rank me but does Barts take into account over predictions like somebody with Cs at AS but has been predicted an A*?

I got AAAAa so that's 540 if you count the extra AS level :/ what do you guys think?

If you got a C at AS and were predicted an A* then it's not counted. The medical schools will realise that's something's not right there so unless there's extenuating circumstances then the predictions are seen as unrealistic and count for **** all and the school/sixth form can be blacklisted.

Cutoff last year was ~510, so you could be ok but I don't want to say in case 540 ends up not being good enough and you count me as responsible

I know this is only the 2nd year of this system but what do you think the variance in cut off would be? Would 530 be too risky ?

Agreed with the 70s/80s.. I don't know the difference between the two in dress code sense
Avengers is so much better than the film they gave us last year (cold running ffs)
