Making use of the textbook and the teacher to ensure you thoroughly understand the material and then doing lots of practice.

Loads of past papers and asking for help... reading a textbook over and over again won't help, unless you keep doing a paper after reading it.

Examiners tend to recycle past exam questions, but rephrase it to not make it obvious, so if you know what the question is requiring you to do (by practicing a lot) and you know certain key words, then you won't struggle.
