Hi, can you advise me if their are many mature students at undergraduate level. Also whether their are many living in halls. I'm 23 years old and a bit worried that their will not be many mature students on my course! Accountancy and finance that is.

Any help would be good. Thanks

I went to Herts when I was 22, I didn't feel out of place and had fun in halls. There were plenty of people older than me too.

I study sports studies and Psychology as a joint honours degree. I will be commuting by car from NW London when the new year starts.

Oh great! So you're in second year?
I live in North London as well, I just passed my practical 2 weeks ago so I too will be commuting by car to uni when I start.
Are you enjoying your degree?

Yeah it's pretty good. I was doing biomedical science before hand but really hated it lol. Psychology is much more interesting to me. What part of N London do you live, if you don't mind my asking?
Hi guys i'm Romario i'm new to this but yeah, looking forward to starting at herts in september, going to study Film and Tv production, any one know how it is? I live in north London 40mins drive to herts but will be staying at on-campus accommodation for the experience i guess

Hey, when I originally applied for the course the content was very clear but i soon got an email to say that they were changing it, the course I had applied for was BA film and television production fiction (eg. films and dramas mainly), there were other choices such as BA film and television production factual (eg. games/talk shows and documentaries) and others similar but now they basically merged them all into film and television production and post production you do a bit of both 1st year and in the second you get to choose which to specialise in, production or post production. I think this is actually much better, because if like me you are unsure what you want to do and don't want to commit yourself to a specific style just yet, it gives you an extra year to decide weather you prefer editing or filming

Now in terms of the facilities, i visited the creative arts building which is in the college lane campus, twice with a friend who is also wanting to study this course, and it is fair to say neither of us were satisfied with it, every other building in both campuses are great but unfortunately this specific building is mehh in my opinion :/. I had conditional offers for same course at Westminster uni, Ravensbourne uni and Bournemouth uni, I did not check out bournemouth as it was too much of a long journey and tbh i don't know why I even chose it as one of my options, i did however check out the others and can say they're facilities/equipment for this course were much better, but I still I prefer to study this course at herts as i feel the student life in terms of sports clubs and activities are much better, also after living in London for 10 years I need a break :P .

So I guess overall depending on what you would describe as decent haha I do think film and television production at herts is decent.
This is a very long post forgive me, but i hope it gives you a bit of an insight on the course and my views on it, but please don't make any rational decisions, do your research  thats the best advice i can give.
All the best my friend hope I helped in any way, shape or form.

Didn't like the people, thought the majority of modules were boring apart from the practicals and when I checked average lay fro graduates from the course, I wasn't too impressed. There are easier and more fun courses that have a much higher average graduate pay.
yep i will be studying pharmacy this year need to sort accommodation out still :frown:
