The university of Nottingham

Hello everyone, I am an algerian girl seeking to study in the uk, I've already booked for a university preparation year, and as I was going through the universities that have a partership with EF; I consulted every university's website and the the list of the top-ranked universities in the UK, the Nottingham university seems to be a really good one as the fees are okay for international students, I wanted to know
-How much does it cost (rent, food, studies, books) per year
- should I rent a room on the campus or a flat outside the campus (Price?)
- How is the law department (as I am intersted in this field) (undergrad of course)
- is it possible to take a job only for weekends (as all that seems to be very expensive and even though both of my parents are doctors they don't earn te half of what a british doctor earns)
- Is it possible to continue my studies in France or somewhere else after I graduate?
- Is it possible to succeed at studying when you have a part time job (only for week ends I hope)
thank you forward (sprry for the english)

I'll answer what I can.

It terms of rent I would estimate an average student to be paying around £70 per week not inclusive of any bills.
So let's just say £85 per week including bills.
Slight variation dependent upon quality of housing, location and all that of course. But that is average, and 11 month contracts are the norm. Slightly shorter contracts on university campus accommodation and other student flats, but then those tend to be in the £95 to £100 per week region from my past experience.

I think the uni has a renowned reputation for Law; the Law department is one of it's highest ranked and in turn the UoN Law department is one of the highest ranked in the country.
However, I'm sure if you use TSR's search function you'll find other reviews about it, including certain issues to do with a low proportion of students succeeding in getting the desired 2:1 benchmark.

Yes it's possible. But in my opinion, finding a job for a student is one of the hardest things in any part of the country so I wouldn't bank on it. In terms of succeeding in your degree whilst having a job then I think that's up to you.
With any degree there comes workload, especially in 2nd and 3rd year, less so in 1st year. On top of that, you'll be managing your house/flat, which you may or may not be used to if you are still young. If you have any intentions to socialise and maybe dedicate yourself to any specific hobbies or a sport then obviously it's up to you to decide if getting a job is worth it or not.

1. It entirely depends where you live. There is student accommodation from £55/week including water. If you're short on cash, there is somewhere. Halls are more expensive than living in a shared student house, bu they also include all utilities (gas, electricity, water, Internet), and sometimes meals.
2. Well, in terms of price, on-campus accommodation offer good quantity for money, but the quality for money is not as good when it comes to food. You get a lot of food for your money, but it's good, not amazing.
3. Not sure.
4. Yes. There are supermarkets, bars, restaurants, etc that take people only for weekends. There's also an on-campus temporary jobs agency - Unitemps - which places students in part-time or temporary work.
5. Yes, absolutely, and a degree from the University of Nottingham holds great international reputation and recognition
6. Yes, and a lot of students do. I currently hold down a 7-hour-a-week job at the University and am on track to get a 1st. Clearly everybody is different, but it is certainly possible.
