I agree... to an extent. But there are no religions other than Islam for which there is an inbuilt death penalty for apostates and I think that in itself is telling.

Actually it's in the Hadith not the Quran. The Quran is apparrently written by God and the Hadith is made by different people associated with the Prophet. But I think it's stupid for muslims to follow the Hadith as their Mohammed isn't their God, just a messanger and if he had a message then write it in the Quran not in a seperate book.

We use the Hadith as a guideline as Muhammad (PBUH) was indeed the example of how a Muslim should act and live in this world.
