Placement year even if the degree you chose isnt a sanwich course?

hey people,

If I chose to study a 3 year BSc or BEng course am I still able to do a placement year and make it a 4 year course? or do I have to apply it as a sandwich course in order for me to be able to do the placement?

thanks in advance.

Employer's themselves won't be bothered usually - i.e. you're fine to apply for placements regardless of whether it's a sandwich degree or not. The sticking point is with your department, because you need to clear it with them that you can take a year out. It's best to speak to them about this as I imagine some of them have stricter policies than others.

I guess you could technically, by taking a gap year. Start in July, finish in July. Boom. Placement
