Jobs whilst studying..

Hey, how difficult is it to get a part-time job either at the university or in the city? I know it won't be easy but I am super worried about it being impossible as there will be dozens of students looking for jobs. =/

Hi!

Once you've enrolled at Hallam during Fresher's week, SHUSpace have an 'employability' section where you can register your interest to view part time jobs both on and off campus. Other students may be looking for jobs, true, but don't let this put you off. Try indeed for part time jobs also. Make sure your CV is up to date with any relevant experience and employment and have a look as frequently as you can for jobs.

Also, the Careers and Employability Centre next to the Owen (main) building on city campus, which you will probably see during induction week offer CV drop ins to help you get the most out of your CV, can give you mock interviews and overall career advice, so if you want some tips to improve your employability and job seeking skills, this may be a place to look!

Overall, be positive and have a look around at what's available.
