http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-29742774

Think its a waste of money and gimmick as spending money on useless things that people use once a year

what do u think
How is it a waste of money, if people enjoy it?
I'm celebrating it and I think it's just fun so it's all good

Why would anybody stop kids getting high on E numbers? Live and let live.

So we should ban things that only happen once year
Christmas
Easter
Nov 5th
New Year's
My Birthday

I don't think so

Can't stand Halloween but if people want to spend their money on it then leave them to it. No one is forcing you

Boring, stressful, mindless just like Christmas, wouldn't ban it though.
Love Halloween

a reminder of our christian and perhaps pagan past

You don't have to buy into the comersialtion of the holiday to enjoy it

Ban sweets.
I came into this thread to argue against abolishing it but your detailed and well-thought-out argument has changed my mind. I say ban it.

"Down with this sort of thing."
I wouldn't get rid of the rest of the celebrations but Halloween has gone from trying to be scary to what looks like a poorly scripted budget porno auditions over the country. I'd ban trick or treaters. I think every household should be given land mines which they can bury by the door to ward off trick or treaters.

I agree its a gimmicky load of crap and it annoys me, but as for banning it just because you don't like it, that's just ridiculous

If we had it as a holiday that'd be good

I think parents shouldn't encourage their kids to go around begging for sweets under threat of a 'trick', but if they like dressing up and painting their faces that's cool.
