studying textiles at unis other than london

obviously one of the big pluses of studying at a London university is being able to set up connections for a future career, especially in art. For anyone that has studied at non-London unis for textiles, what are your job prospects like? Are you at any great disadvantage?
thanks

London sounds good, but for me it seemed way too expensive and too far from home. I am only an applicant but have applied places other than London. My main choice is Northumbria, it seems really amazing for fashion courses and they have loads of links with the industry. Newcastle is also an amazing city with loads of inspiration available - all art galleries are free, lots of independent shops and lovely people. Also there's a year in industry on the course I've picked, and they have a London campus, so it's not impossible that I will end up in London on my placement and be able to gain contacts there. You could also move to London after the course.
