changing from a child to adult passport

I am in serious need of some advise. I need to get myself a new passport however I can't work out if I need to apply for a New adult passport or just a renewal? I had a child passport that expires next month?
I need to get it sorted ASAP as my holiday is in six weeks!

i think its a renewal, i had a child one that ran out and i did it on the week fast track at the passport office, might be good idea to get it fast tracked at it might take more than a month if you do it by post.

It's definitely renewal - you already have an existing passport, therefore you don't need all the stuff like your parents birth certificates etc, just send your old passport in. Renewals also take no time at all - mine came back in not even a week. If you're worried use the check & and service at the post office
