Your student loan and university payments are both in three instalments. Each time, you'll get paid a few weeks before the uni takes it out of your account. My first payment to York was a little more than the first loan payment so make sure you've got something in your account

I just got accepted onto the History of Art: Architectural History and Theory MA to start September 2017. I've never lived or studied in York, so this will be a first for me.

I was originally thinking about living in postgraduate halls for the year, but I know that's quite an expensive option, though at least this way all bills and maintenance etc is dealt with easily. I was wondering whether anyone had any useful information about accommodation as close to the campus as possible; a nice place to live and with other postgraduate students? I'm 25 and would prefer to live with other people close to my age, rather than undergraduates and freshers.

I'm looking forward to starting my new adventure with some of you!

Don't live in Halifax as a postgraduate if you don't have to. It's incredibly loud.
