Is it possible to get insured on a corvette at 20?

Is it possible to get insured on a corvette stingray or a mercedes slk 250 with only 2 months after passing the test? Roughly how much would it cost if the car is being kept in a safe area and have not had any accidents

How the hell is a 'vette and a Merc SLK250 even comparable? lol. Once is a big yank V8 track car, the other is an underpowered german small GT car, the latter would be far easier to get insurance on but even then your looking at £1500 or so at 20 if you got your license at 17. With a fresh license I'd be suprised if anyone quotes you 'vette. Im 21 with my license for 4 years and 2 years NCB and Id be looking at 4-6k+++ (This is the quote I got for a merc C63).

Get a cheap small hatch would be my recommendation. If you REALLY want somethat that LOOKs sporty (I take it you dont care about handling or driving dynamics since you picked out the SLK250) try a Hyundai Coupe SIII 1.6. They drive like a moderately sporty hatchback, look great and are cheap to insure relative to other sports styled cars. The 1.6 is gutless though but as a new driver Id take the hit and get something nice after you have been driving a couple of years.

adrian flux MIGHT and only might insure you as that who michael carroll and my younger uncle(29 now about 20 then) was with mr carroll purchased a number of sports vehicles mostly merc's, astons, ferraris and a lamborghini but a years insurance for the set was about £120,000 then for about 6 cars with a couple of years experience

Could you not grab a registration plate off Autotrader and run a few quotes yourself?
I got quoted £6300 on a Corvette C6 with 1 year experience. I'm 18.
I was quite surprised.

I see we've got the usual guesswork and 2nd hand information posted up already... Not only are you insuring a left hand drive car it's also an import so the regular insurance co's just haven't got a clue.

I've got a classic american car and they are surprisingly cheap to insure at any age. However, you don't want to bother with compare the meerkat et al. There are a number of specialist insurers out there who will deal with american cars. I've got mine with adrian flux although it was a toss up between them and RH.
I know a young lad who picked up a '67 coronet last year. He was 19 and he was paying something like £1300 and change which is an awful lot of money to insure a car even if it is a 6.2 litre V8.
They are quite cheap because they are statistically unlikely to be crashed. There are thousands of snotbox corsas et al smashed up every month. I bet you could count on 1 hand the number of claims submitted for corvettes and they are considered to be VERY popular american imports.

My yank tank came in at £133.

If you can afford the insurance for the vette, go for it
insurance is afickle thing, my supra cost 3k/year when 18, my mate's mustang cost him 1700, both with specialist insurers, the likes of adrian flux wouldn't touch me on it so it took a lot of hunting.

With which company?
Not sure what it was. I did it on go compare and that was the cheapest decent insurance.
There were cheaper one with a black box (on a corvette, really!)
But yeah £6300 was thr best option.
