Im doing edexcel- infact leaving for it in just an hour. Poverty and Welfare 1815-1850 for the source paper and then Italy- Rise of Fascism for P2. Last minute cramming about why all the groups hated another in Italy at the moment lol. Really confusing- like okay, the Nationalists, Socialists, Catholics and Fascists all hated Liberals for x,y and z, then nationalists, catholics, fascists and liberals hated socialists for different reasons again? argh!! Good luck everyone!!
I am sooo scared!!

I have 2 questions regarding the exam which I am to sit at 1.30 this afternoon!

(Nazi/Weimar) Firstly, how do you get the most marks for questions 1 and 2? I find question 1 harder as my general knowledge about the rise to power is generally quite good.

(Bolshevik Russia) Secondly, does anybody have any information on the arts during the period 1919 - 29? I can't find anything in my notes and it may come up as a part A question.

Also, if anybody has any questions then I would be more than pleased to help answer them as best I can.

hey do u mean ull haven't done the exam yet....????? ?????
unit 1 & 2 June 2007 as edexcel???
Is the Russia Unit 1 still weighted the same as before? As 120 UMS mark things? I don't really see why it wouldn't be I suppose but it just seems strange to be as significant as before when it's reduced in duration by nearly 50% and you can't fit as much detailed knowledge in as before.

Ahhhhhhhh I didn't do nearly as well as I should have.

The Birth of Fascism questions seemed too simple so it was hard to be analytical about it in much detail, so I kind of ended up describing all factors and just linking them.

For the Seeds of Evil one, I didn't understand what intrigue means, so asked the invigilator and he said "playing off of one another is the best way to explain it".. I got home and looked it up in the dictionary.. and damn.. If I'de known its full meaning then I would have included stuff about Papen and Schliecher (no idea how to spell).. but, unlike the Fascism one, I was able to be very analytical.

Wish I could take best of both worlds - content for Fascism, and analytical prowess from Nazi one.

Just done my WJEC Exams...hard to tell how it went to be honest...just didnt feel i had enougth time to employ everything that i wanted to :frown:
Which gob****e designed this years format to the Edexcel paper? (The questions are no longer on the source material page)

If it aint broke.... dont fix it.
Yeah that looked a right burden for the other people doing the paper!

Luckily the school didn't have enough papers for some reason so some of us had to get photocopies of the questions + sources and do the answers in a separate exam booklet, meaning we could look at the questions whilst writing or for reference or whatever. I know there were only 2 question so.. it's hardly constant flickage but I like to remain confident that I'm answering the right question and the only way I can do that is by constantly glancing at it.

Oh, - and apparently they did it that way because of.. oh what was it again, the way they now do the online marking and how it's easier for them?? At a bit of a sick expense though..

I think we can now discuss how bad/good we did.
Question A was nailed on.

Struggled abit with question B seeing as it focused on politicans as well as businessmen. Also went off a bit from "intrigue" due to the question not being infont of me.

Never mentioned Papens precendent government in Bavria, the cabinet being setup on a rightwing coaltion or even Hindenburgs hatred of democracy. Did remember moments after the exam finished though.

For the last source where it asks about people electoral support, would it have been wise to say 67% didnt want to see Hitler in power, and that it was crucially only the political intrigue that brought the Nazis to power?

Realise I need about 18 or above/40 for the last question in order to a get a C. The horror, oh the horror....
