Hey anyone know where I can go to get a room? I tried the student accommodations but they're pretty much fully booked. I need something quite quick since classes start in a few weeks. I'm a Canadian doing the LLB JD path program and would love if there were housemates that are in the same program.

Hey, I have a room that needs filling in a really nice 5 bedroom house on Welford Road near Clarendon Park - only £85pppw for September 2018  Please let me know if you're interested xx

Hey. Are you still looking for someone? I'm a second year Mathematics student and I've left it mega late. URGH :pika:
Potentially Looking for Someone to Take Over Bronze Studio at The Summit ASAP

I currently hold a residency for a 19th floor Bronze Studio apartment at the Summit tower in Leicester, and if possible am looking for someone to take over it as soon as possible. I've already paid for the residency from September until now, which leaves two payments left of £2304 each (one due this month, one due in May) for the rest of the residency, which would run from whenever you move in to the 23rd of August.

If anyone has serious interest in taking over the residency and moving in this month, please let me know so I can start the process of organising the takeover. Thanks.

Hi, Looking for Postgraduate Accommodation but now sure which one to pick - (Either En-Suite or Studio would do). Can anyone help with the reviews of the blocks available for postgraduates?

Hi, I have received my offer recently and was wondering about accommodation choices as an international postgraduate student.

I want clarification regarding the cleaning services available to students for the rooms, bathrooms and kitchen. Which of these are cleaned regularly and which of these are the students responsible for? Does it depend on what kind of room we choose? Specifically I need information regarding Ensuite rooms.

Thank you

Hi!
Nearly all accommodation I know in Leicester is that you clean your own room and communal area (kitchen) and if you do decide to get an ensuite, each person is responsible for cleaning their own room and collectively maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen (my experience with en suite).

Despite your interest in en suite, I do have a studio at The Summit Annexe that urgently needs a new tenant as I don't need to be staying in Leicester as nearly all my classes are online. If you're interested, drop me a message and I would be more than happy to discuss with you about accommodation!
Do you or any of the private halls have anything suitable for a couple (one a non student) with no shared facilities? Like self contained 1 / 2 bedroomed flats?

Hi, I have insured Leicester and was looking at the accommodation. I dont really understand the "To apply first select your pathway" when I click on it i can choose anything and the application type, course type and pathway are grey but I cant choose a 'session', I dont really know what that is. Was just hoping someone could explain it 😅.
Thanks

Hi @16rlee ,

Great to hear you've put us down as your insurance choice! If you're trying to have a look at the different types of accommodation we offer, the best place to head to is: https://le.ac.uk/study/undergraduates/accommodation?utm_source=referral&utm_medium=tsr&utm_campaign=2021enquiryprofile&utm_content=various and then click on the purple 'browse our halls' button on the right-hand side. You can then see all of our accommodation and filter according to budget, room type, location etc.

In terms of applying for accommodation - if you have put Leicester down as your insurance choice, you won't need to worry about applying for accommodation until Results Day (if you decide to come to Leicester!). We guarantee accommodation for first years, as long as you have applied by 1 September so no need to worry about this for now! Hope that helps.

I'm not too sure which page you were looking at that was asking you to select a pathway and session etc. but if you let me know and I can try and point you in the right direction!

Best wishes,

Ellie

Oh right, I understand what to do know thanks for the help (:
Has anyone lived in the One-Bedroom Rooms in Nixon Court Blocks F-K before? What was it like? I couldn't find much pictures on it; the most I could find was from Leicester's Flickr page, but that was almost 6 years ago, so I assume a lot has changed since then.

Hi!

I just wanted to point you in the right direction for some more information on Nixon Court Blocks F-K. If you click here, this will take you to a couple more pictures, facilities and what's provided. Nixon Court is part of 'The City' accommodation.

Hope this helps - hopefully some of our recent graduates and current students may be able to tell you a bit more about their experience staying at Nixon Court. You've got the best of both worlds staying in The City accommodation though, as you're just a 10-minute walk to campus and 15-minutes from the city of Leicester.

Please do let me know if you have any other questions we can help answer

Best wishes,

Ellie
Hi I have an offer for medicine and will firm Leicester, is it better to live in the city where it is closer (for any early mornings) or is it better to live in the village where it is cheaper and better social life?
Hi @Anonymous #4,

Firstly, congratulations on your offer to study Medicine at the University of Leicester - that's great news!

There are advantages to both options and as you have mentioned the campus (including the George Davis Centre, where the Medical school is based) is nearer the City Centre than The Village. However, a lot of first year students live in The Village in Oadby as it is great place where everyone can make friends and socialise together.

To put it into perspective, Medicine is a 5 year degree so if you decided to live in The Village in first year, then you have the opportunity to live nearer to the City Centre after first year where you would be nearer to the Medical School facilities. Therefore, you would the opportunity to experience living in both settings!

I hope this is helpful, but ultimately it is down to your decision. However, hopefully this gives you some information to weigh up both perspectives to help you make the right choice for you.

All the best,
Ross

Hello I was wondering if there are any “quieter” areas in the village to live i.e. where less parties take place? Or are they all about the same?
Hi @anonymous #4,

That is a really good question to ask!

There isn’t any specific rooms which are designated ‘quiet zones’, although often blocks located on the edge of The Village may be less noisy as they are further away from other blocks and the centre of The Village.

Halls of residence with only 2nd or 3rd year students are often quieter as students have got over freshers and generally have more commitments so are therefore less likely to party.

I hope this answers your question!

Best wishes,
Ross
Hi, I wanted to ask why the freshers week isn’t included in the accommodation contracts. I don’t fancy travelling in everyday just for freshers events but confused as to why the week isn’t included but the contract extends till July?
I was wondering what accommodation typically becomes available at clearing stage if I take my insurance choice at Leicester after exam results day. Would prefer an en-suite but imagine there would be non available at that stage normally?

Hi @Kxtie303 sorry for taking so long to get back to you on this- we've had some recent staff changes.

Just to follow up though- your contract for the University of Leicester accommodation does include the week of freshers! You will typically move in the weekend before freshers week starts (it's slightly earlier if you are a medical student)

I hope that makes sense but happy to chat more if you have questions- Alisha:smile: (Student Recruitment Support Officer)

Hey, thanks for your question and sorry for the late reply :frown: (we've had some staff changes recently!)

It does vary from one year to the next as to what rooms are available during clearing- the main thing is that we do have accommodation available to our students coming through via clearing. My best advice would be; if you accept a place with the University of Leicester through clearing, to apply for your accommodation as soon as possible. You'll be able to apply within 24 hours of adding Leicester as your clearing choice on UCAS.

If you apply before the 1st September, you are guaranteed a place in university-managed accommodation.

Worth mentioning that we have a range of accommodation available, so hopefully you would be able to find something similar or suitable if you weren't able to secure your first choice (for example, instead of an en-suite room, perhaps a room with your own wash-basin in would be a good alternative?)

I hope this is useful information for you! Let me know if you have any other questions- Alisha:smile: (Student Recruitment Support Officer)
