Some people posting on here obviously do not understand the words 'personal security' so I am making it easier by spelling it out: ** it is taking steps to stay safe and reduce the risk of you becoming the victim of a crime **

By extension, if you keep yourself safe, you are also looking after family, friends and colleagues, as well as physical resources (equipment, vehicles, buildings etc).

The information in the sticky 'Security on the Arned Forces Subforum' is as relevant today as when it was first published.

Posters are using real names in usernames, and giving personal details, which can be used to trace them if they don't have a secure online presence.

Others are publishing specific dates for events, which lets people know that there will be individuals/groups with a military connection (staff as well as candidates) in particular places at certain times. This information poses a serious risk, particularly given the recent nature of terror attacks using vehicles.
