Driving license ??

So today I passed my driving test.
After the test the examiner recommended I got my photo changed so he gave me back the licence. I was going to complete a D1 form and get a new photo however I found this to be time consuming and costly so instead I opted to keep the same photo. Later today I sent my provisional licence and driving certificate to the DVLA by post containing only those two documents. Is this acceptable and was I meant to do this?

Please note my name, address and now photo are all stalling the same.

I don't see why not, only you'll know how accurate the photo is, and it was only a recommendation at end of the day. Although I doubt he said it for the hell of it?

It was only that my hair is long and I look very young in the pic. But what I was trying to say is that is it right to just put the provisional and the certificate in the post?
