Which resort did you work at?

OO, i worked at a small non profit ski resort on Northern Vancouver Island, British Columbia. It was called Mount Cain and its only one of 2 ski resorts on Vancouver Island.

Were there plenty of different runs to keep you amused? I'm wary of going to a small resort for a whole season in case I get bored.

Well, this resort was really quiet. When you finished a run, you hopped right on the T-bar, no waits. Free seasons pass for those who worked there and free housing. Also, if you didnt own skis, free rentels (haha, i never did own a pair.) As for the runs, well i was into jumps and stuff, so i was always amused. Plenty of runs for me. If you have hardly any skiing experience, or none at all, this is the place to go.

A real community atmosphere here. Made friends easy and had a good time. If you smoke weed, tons available (i do not smoke weed.)

This is somthing I've been looking into for my gap year (even though it's a way off) and one website i've found really good for job adverts and general info is http://www.gapyear.com/jobs/index.php?op=sm&mz=se&id=128. For those who haven't seen it before, it's got lots of advice as well as adverts from british ski companies recruiting people to work in chalets.
Something i've also looked at v seriously is training over the summer [winter over there!!] in new zealand with either http://www.skiinstructortraining.co.nz/ or http://www.rookieacademy.com/ but that's more for those who are looking at being an instructor.

Hi all, im thinking of going to les 2 alps in winter 2006 for a season snowboarding. I would need to get a job in a hotel or bar  , which would hopefully include a liftpass or accommodation  . How easy is it to get jobs and do they include these bonuses? Also, is it better to go with mates or is it better to make friends there?
Cheers,

I think I'm going to take a gap-year after uni, and train to become a ski-instructor in France or somewhere. Could well end up staying there - starting my own business and not come back...
