finding psychology boring

I chose it because I found it interesting basically, and thought choosing a subject I was passionate about and would enjoy would be good. now I have a boring and bad career prospect degree. tbh the modules this semester arent the most exciting, , both research methods, academic and professional skills, neuroscience, social psy

it kinda feels like I'm not even studying psychology tbh. idk if it's just the course at this uni or just year 1 but yeah I'm not motivated to do the work and read.

the layout as well ( lecturers put everything on this website and it's kinda unclear what you're meant to do each week, no idea what the tests are like so what notes to make and how much reading is necessary)

I also have insomnia which does decrease my motivation for anything and makes it hard to concentrate.

anyone else studying psy got any opinions / advice? will it improve?

i know exactly how you feel, i did psychology for a level and absolutely hated it .yet when i discussed it with the people in the class with me they thought i was mad as they all loved it so much. feel like the odd one out tbh
Can you swap or not?
Do you have any optional modules next year? You may find that the first year is just a very broad overview of Psychology, hence why you study all the basics and could then be able to specialise a bit more in the following years.
By no means is it a bad career prospects degree. You could work in HR, in PR, in marketing, finance even (most workers in finance and banking actually have humanities degrees now!), you could become a teacher, a college lecturer, a psychologist (fair play it is a long route), a psychological well-being practitioner amongst so many others.
