Environmental Sciences! Which Unis to choose and why? Neeeed Your Help !!!!

I am planning to send my application for 2009 entry.
I have chosen to study Environmental Sciences but I can't make up my mind about which Unis to choose :s-smilie:

The problem is that I am from EU and not from England so I don't know much about different unis and there's no specific info about Environmental Science course rankings so your help would be appreciated!!

And plz also give me some information about which unis will be easier to get into!!! And is there a big difference between the quality of studies? I don't know how good my results will be so I think I need to choose some that I have the best chance of getting into and some better ones if I get good grades.

Ok the ones I am considering are:
Manchester EnvSci(3 years) BSc [BBB]
Reading 1) EnvSci(3 years) 2) EnvSci with professional experience (4 years)
East Anglia 1) EnvSci Bsc with opp. North America/Australasia/Europe/Industry
Birmingham 1)EnvManagement Bsc(3 years)[BBB] 2)EnvSci BSc(3 years)[BBB] 3) EnvSci with prof. placement abroad(Australasia)BSc(4 years)[AAB]
Southampton 1) Bsc EnvSci [BBB] 2) MEnvSci [AAB-BBB]
Nottingham 1) EnvSci BSc Hons (3 years) [BBB-BBC] 2) EnvSci MSci Hons (4 years) [BBB-BBC] 3) EnvSci with certificate in European Studies MSci Hons (5 years) 4) EnvSci with certificate in European studies Bsc Hons (4 years)
Sheffield 1) EnvSci Bsc (3 years) [BBB-BBC] 2) EnvSci MEnvSci (4 years) [ABB]
Newcastle 1) EnvSci BSc Honours (3 years) [ABB-BBB]
Leeds 1) EnvSci BSc(Hons) (3 years) [BBC] + International/Industrial

My thoughts: I have heard East Anglia is good and I also like the abroad opportunities so I think East Anglia will be my choice. Birmingham also has international opp so this will be also my choice. Southampton seems to be good too and I like the fact it has diffeent pathaways to choose from.

Ok so which 5 Unis and also which courses should I pick and which should I definitely drop??
And plz also point out the reasons why !!!!

Also do you have any ideas what I should write about in my personal statement for Environmental Sciences ???

The University of Plymouth has a fairly good reputation for Environmental Sciences. I'm doing the postgrad equivalent with the same department (School of Oceanographic and Environmental Science) here at the moment, and I think they're doing a reasonable job with the course plus the uni has very impressive facilities etc. I'm not sure what the grade requirements for the undergraduate course are, but you can check on UCAS.

edit: and with regards to the question about the PS, TSR has a PS guidance and help forum where you post the PS draft (privately) and a volunteer who's already a graduate or uni student will read it and offer some advice. Forum here: http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=134 and FAQ about how it works here: http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/announcement.php?f=134&a=89 I'd quite likely end up being the person reviewing it since it's part of my specialism as a PS-helper. For content, essentially just remember the PS is about making you stand out from other applicants by showing in detail that you're genuinely really interested in and passionate about the course. So give some examples of areas of Env. Sci. or related issues that have caught your attention, explain what about them it is that interests you so much, and talk about the extra reading/research etc that it's inspired you to do to find out more.
